Problem Statement
For decades, coffee farmers have received a minuscule portion of the net profits—oftentimes a dollar or less per pound of coffee sold. Despite their labor-intensive, high-quality coffee, farmers and their community remain in poverty as they sell their crops into the world commodity market.
Our Mission
Farmer Shares Coffee aims to drastically improve farmers' income by facilitating a direct relationship with small coffee farmers in Central America. Unlike commercial markets, our farmers will be paid 100% of their coffee's net profit after it has been exported, packaged and sold—resulting in about five times as much profit they receive per pound sold!
